El Cotillo apartment...

El Cotillo (pronounced El Coateeyo) is a fishing village located on the North West coast of Fuerteventura and is ideal for holiday makers who prefer a quieter resort.

It has some of the island's prettiest beaches in the North and also two harbours – the old and the new. The local fishermen can usually be seen in the new harbour working on their colourful boats and if you are lucky you may see them bringing in their catch of the day.

To the left of the village is the long magnificent beach called Playa del Castillo. It is backed by cliffs and dramatic mountain scenery and is a favourite for water sports enthusiasts.

By contrast, to the right is the endless stretch of white sandy coves and turquoise lagoons. These are sheltered and are ideal for snorkelling, swimming and exploring rock pools. Naturism is widely accepted on most beaches.

El Cotillo is famous for it’s little fortress El Fortaleza del Toston built in 1797 to warn off pirate attacks; nowadays it holds exhibitions for local artists. It is open to tourists and the views from the top are stunning.

El Cotillo apartment nearby restaurants...

There’s an excellent choice of restaurants in the village serving locally caught fish, Canarian cuisine and very good steaks. Many have wonderful views and the spectacular Cotillo sunsets can be enjoyed whilst eating. All are within walking distance of the apartment.

Also there are a few supermarkets and a couple of restaurants offering a take away menu for those wishing to 'eat-in'.
